We work with dance and technology to provide a unique programme of inclusive learning and engagement for children and young people at all stages of their development.
  • Early Years
  • Key Stage One and Two
  • Key Stage Three and Four
  • Further Education
  • Higher Education

We can help schools to develop curriculum intent, design and development and delivery of provision.

Our work actively supports schools to meet the requirements of the new OFSTED framework including delivering a broad and balanced curriculum and the delivery of cultural capital.

We are interested in working with schools with a commitment to develop new practice for the benefits of current and future learners. Get in touch to find out how Tuckshop Dance Theatre can help to support you and your learners to make positive choices to prepare for an aspirational future. We want to see young people with a strong sense of identity, connected with and effectively contributing to the world.

We work with dance to explore how dance can offer more diverse learning opportunities. We want to work with schools to effectively promote learning in motion and co-curated place making experiences in a world of differences.

Our schools offer promotes British Values, supports National Curriculum PE Programme of study, and will also meet Maths, English and PHSE learning outcomes.

We strongly value partnership working to achieve collective impact.

Testimonials from schools

"Thank you so much for today! The children were 'buzzing' afterwards.
The children were focussed and totally engaged throughout the whole workshop. Each step towards their final piece was carefully planned and structured but also allowed the children to express their own ideas and movements to work with our theme. Their final 'performance' was totally amazing and very moving! Would highly recommend Lauren!!!"

(Arts Lead, Mottram St Andrew Primary Academy, Macclesfield, Cheshire)

“We have just had the most fantastic dance workshops with Lauren at Tuckshop Dance Theatre. She delivered sessions to our key stage 3 and 4 dance students- and the progress they made in such a short time was amazing. The students really enjoyed learning new movement vocabulary- and they particularly loved learning tricks that they can now use for their choreography. Lauren has an amazing calming presence with the students and it really focused and engaged them from the start! We highly recommend Lauren’s dance workshops- she really tailored the content to what we needed. Thank you!!"

We will work to design our learning packages with schools. We support pupils and staff to create from a starting point. This could be a topic, learning priority, idea, or an  enquiry.

Our work will:

Give pupil's agency in the creative learning process.
Support young people to build confidence, and to improve self- esteem.
Increasing self- efficacy,
Increase knowledge of youth issues and to celebrate youth culture,
Develop skills in communication, team work, and leadership.

Support building healthy relationships.

Contribute to personal and social development.
2019 Ofsted framework promotes and elevates the prominence of 'personal development', and as a result, SMSC.
The area of personal development includes:
  • Spiritual, moral, social and cultural (SMSC) development;
  • Personal, social, and health education (PSHE) education;

Including digital technology in our offerings will:

Celebrate a holistic approach to STEAM learning.
Improve digital media literacy and give digital learning tangible purpose.
Support online participation. (If school is happy for us to do so.)

Our bespoke programmes made with, by and for young people address the following themes:
Identity and belonging
Health and wellbeing
Healthy relationships

Leadership, civic engagement and participation Arts, culture and heritageCreativity and fun
Global citizenship including Digital Citizenship
The environment and sustainable development
Dance: Physical and Creative Skills Development

"Creativity and invention have always had a critical role in leading us into the future. Art and technology work closely together to first imagine and then make possible the worlds we’ll exist in tomorrow." (https://www.nesta.org.uk/blog/future-creativity-and-invention/)
