Tuckshop Dance Theatre came to existence with a desire to build on years of practice, research and conversation around dance development in the Northwest. Lauren feels passionately about reimagining and co-creating the vision for arts and culture with, by and for diverse communities. As an emerging company, we recognise that we can not succeed in our mission in isolation. We believe in collective impact to drive our commitments, to co-create pathways to achieve our shared vision. With support from other cultural organisations, youth sector organisations, stakeholders as creative partners, schools, educational institutions, digital partners, business development networks and others with unique skill sets, we will create opportunities for engagement, learning, creative leadership, and social action. We are excited about walking this journey of transformation together and enhancing all of our lives in the active, creative process of achieving collective impact.
At Tuckshop Dance Theatre we are interested in forming partnerships with venues and cultural destinations to collaborate with us on our mission to:
Explore our key themes for 2020-2023- identity and belonging, digital citizenship, climate change and conservation, health and well being and pride in place.
Merge Arts, Technology & Innovation to create multi-disciplinary work.
Celebrate young people's perspectives, respect their ideas and to amplify youth voice.
Develop creative youth work and opportunities for young people and make the benefits of engaging with creative youth work widely recognisable.
Support people from all backgrounds and circumstances to live more creative live.
Support people from all backgrounds and circumstances to build bright futures.
Work with venues to become youth friendly, safe spaces where young people can be themselves, express themselves, be a part of a strong support network to build positive relationships with artists, youth workers, digital change makers and volunteers, build friendships with peers, inspire future generations of young people, and participate in a range of creative activities and cultural experiences on offer.
